Continuing Education Requirements for Renewal

After meeting their initial renewal requirement, all Florida registered and certified Alarm 1 & 2 and specialty electrical licensed contractors must complete 7 CE credit hours before the end of each subsequent two-year renewal period. This requirement includes:

  • 1 hour workers’ compensation
  • 1 hour workplace safety
  • 1 hour business practices
  • 1 hour Florida Laws & Rules
  • 2 hours false alarm prevention
  • 1 hour Florida Building Code advanced module course

Renewal Deadline

Licenses expire August 31st every even year.

Reporting of Class Completion

Education Pathways, LLC will notify the Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) that the license holder has completed the class. Please allow five days for your DBPR account to update.
