Education Pathways reports completions to DPOR within 5 business days. Course access remains available for 12 months after purchase.
Experienced salespersons must complete 16 hours of DPOR-approved continuing education every 2 years to stay licensed.
The 16 hours break down into five required subjects — 3 hours Ethics & Standards of Conduct, 2 hours Fair Housing, 2 hours Legal Updates and Emerging Trends, 2 hours Real Estate Agency, 2 hours Real Estate Contracts (11 hours total, per HB 383 / SB 330) — plus 5 hours of Board-approved electives.
There’s a 30-day grace period after your license expires to renew without a penalty. Past that point, a reinstatement fee kicks in and you can’t practice real estate until you’re renewed.
Completions are reported to the Virginia Real Estate Board by Education Pathways, a DPOR-approved provider (#0211001342), typically within five business days.
